Weekend Wrap-up: Artsy Fartsy, Carrot Rarett & Grubby Ruggy

Gosh I hate titling these posts. Just silliness, I tell you.

Friday night was pretty wild and crazy in the Brindle household. I got down to business and made some paper shapes. We are one out-of-control household.

I feel like these would be dope if they were made out of clay or cement or some kind of material that's a bit more permanent. Or a chain of shapes. OOoo! Or a garland for a Christmas tree?! Ooo! So many papery possibilities....

Eric got called into work early Saturday morning, so our plan to go on a hike didn't work out. Instead, we went for a walk, had lunch out, wandered around Target, and harvested carrots....

...many teeny-tiny carrots.

Eric had to work again Sunday (his schedule SUCKS right now), so I bought a rug. You know, because rugs make people less lonely.

And then I rearranged the room one zillion times because moving heavy objects often helps one miss one's spouse, less. Obviously.

This is how it is right now:

I showed Eric all these pictures and asked him his favorite arrangement and he said it was this one. I dig it (because the drafting table gets more light and I can now see out the window), but suspect he liked it just so he wouldn't have to help me move things back to their original locations.

But we were talking about the rug. I'm thinking of returning it. Shocker, I know.

Pros: I dig it's creaminess against the dark floor. It is 100% wool. It's in our house at this instant (ie I don't have to wait months for it to appear). At 6'x9', it's the perfect size (5'x8' is a tiny bit too small, 8'x10' is a little too big).
Cons: It's twice as much money as I wanted to spend. It's just....a nice rug. I don't love it, I don't hate it, it's just....nice.

Ope, confirmed, it's going back. If I'm going to buy a kind of crappy rug from World Market, it's going to be this pretend Moroccan shag, not the one I got.

I wonder why this one wasn't in the store? It's cheaper too.... hm......

Or I'll just go to Ikea (over Christmas, I think?) and get one of these:
Alhede - 5'3"x7'10"

Vitten - 5'7"x7'10"
Alvine Ruta - 5'7"x7'10"

About as boring, and maybe a little small, but half as expensive.

Eric will be pleased :)
